By: Ecstatic Plastic
and Ping Bautista,
PUA ComCom correspondent

The summer league has finally come to a close, but it won’t be completely done unless we talk about the hot, hot team of the Human Disc Devils. Yes, they’re even hotter than that finals match between Askalz and UP! Separated at summer league birth, these twin teams are providing a zesty zing on the Polo fields.

Straight from the horse’s mouth, we give you true blue devil, Ping Bautista  to give you the story of the Devils Alabang...

*****

Welcome to the Dirty South!!! The Disc Devils Alabang are spawned...

In the world of Philippine Ultimate, a group of "kids" from both Alabang and Makati together with Alvin Ang, one of the countries leading Ultimate gurus, decided to form a team that had the main goal of having fun while having a competitive attitude for the sport.  Thus the Disc Devils were born.  In the first few leagues they joined, the Devils slowly picked up their pace and soon became a great threat to the other more experienced teams in the league.  They placed first runner-up in the Monsoon Madness Tournament and placed 8th over all in the first ever Manila Spirits International Tournament held late last year.

But as the Devils grew in skill, so too did their ranks.  Ultimate soon became a weekly event in the "bundoks" of Alabang.  The team boomed to almost over 50 members.  Because of this, it was decided that two teams would be fielded for this year's Summer League; one from Makati, and one from Alabang.

Heading the Disc Devils Alabang (DDA) is captain Anton Bayot, whose dedication to the sport is nothing short of admirable.  Lending a helping hand are Marvin Navarro and John Joe Joseph.  Other key players in their line up are veteran players Christopher "Chirpy" Davies, Tommy Brodet, Myco "The Iceman" Loanzon, Ping "Pingles" Bautista and Eduardo "Spyder" Lim.  Also, Jose "Tiger" Garrido rejoins the ranks of DDA after a long absence.

As for the ladies, DDA lost veteran player Kat Velayo to the fear of most graduates: WORK.  The reins (or rather the disc) have now been passed to the able hands of veteran player Nicole Jacinto. Backing her up are Aisa Locsin and Joy Pineda.  Also joining the team from Makati are female players Binky Fornier and Meli Bantug.  And although they might be less experience than the other female players of the league, don't be easily fooled.  They mean business and give out 150% while they are out on the field.

Old and new Faces: Players such like Aids Arguelles, Aisa Locsin,
Towie Vasquez and Binky Fornier are ready to show their skill on the field.

DDA is relatively filled with new players.  Fresh, new blood that is eager to learn this fine sport.  These rising stars include, Alia Vargas, Ria Henares, Pao "Supastar" Arranza, Adrian "Aids" Arguelles, Towie Vasquez, Ramon "Tobor" Tanwangco, Mark Fernandez, John "Cena" Zamora, and Paulino Servado.

The last addition to the team is Xavi Dominguez.  Although he isn't part of the official line up, Xavi is always present for practice and provides the much needed moral support and cheers that the team so desperately needs.

Dungis Devils:  After winning two straight games in last weeks games in
UP Sunken Garden, the members of DDA really had something to smile about. DEATH OR GLORY!!!

That’s it for Tale Spin for this League! Keep an eye on this space when the next league comes around. Expect more laughs! More facts! Nude pics of your favorite players in compromising disc-related positions! Till then, this is Ecstatic Plastic… out!
