The Philippine Ultimate Association regularly organizes leagues, giving individual players a venue to improve skills and to allow teams to develop a group dynamic through prolonged competition. PUA leagues run anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks long.

PUA leagues are a clear indicator of how much the sport has grown. In 2003 alone, the PUA staged three (3) leagues, each one bigger than the last. From only 65 players in the hat-based 1st Winter League in January 2003 , to more than 180 players at the 2nd Winter League in January 2004, the PUA's membership has tripled in the span of a year. If this growth trend continues, the PUA expects to have 250-300 active Ultimate players in Manila alone, by the end of 2004.

The leagues spawned teams which have evolved into the different clubs in the city, each with their own unique culture and distinct playing styles. There are clubs based in Alabang, Quezon City, with the bulk of players converging in Makati.

Public interest has also been drummed up thanks to the leagues. TV crews from leading sports and lifestyles shows in Manila, journalists from various publications, local and international, have covered our games, and sometimes, even our pick-up nights.
