To get to Boracay, one must first fly to Manila (if you're coming from overseas obviously. People from Boracay need not do this. Mary Jane is ever-present down there so clarification may be necessary).
These2 airlines are the best for travel time. They take you to Caticlan, the closest airport to Bora:

The trip is only about 35 minutes.
From the airport, you ride a trike for about 5 minutes to the boat station.
Then the boat to Boracay (about a 20 minute ride). Both rides are really really cheap. |
These 2 airlines take you to Kalibo. You then need to take a 2 hour bus ride for USD1 from the airport to the Caticlan boat station.
