Aside from organizing leagues three times a year, the Philippine Ultimate Association holds regular tournaments to help beginners ease into competitive playing and to reinforce camaraderie among the players from the various teams. It also helps drive up public interest in Ultimate. Local tournaments can be as short as half-a-day to 2 full days of competition, with parties at night, of course.

The PUA hosts 2 major international club-based tournaments every year. These are the Asian Beach Ultimate Tournament, held every March; and the Manila Spirits International Ultimate Tournament, slated for November. Both tournaments have been enormous successes that holding these annual events has become a no-brainer.

Other regular tournaments held by the PUA are the various hat tournaments. 'Hat" is a system of team selection whereby players from the different league teams are mixed, matched and divided into different teams according to their skill level. These include the All-Womens Hat Tournaments, held once every quarter; and seasonal Co-ed Hat Tournaments, during Christmas.
